PCI to PCMCIA CardBus Controller Card
Installation Manual
Introduction
Installing this PCI-to-PCMCIA Controller Card is the most economical method
to add a standard PCMCIA CardBus PC Card slot to the back panel of a desktop
computer. With this product, the desktop PC user can enjoy the same PCMCIA
functionality that a laptop PC provides.
This product works with
Microsoft Windows ME /2000 /XP /Vista operating systems. No proprietary drivers are needed.
Windows will detect this product automatically and install the Windows
built-in driver.
Hardware Installation
Installing this product into your desktop computer is a simple process. Please
follow these steps:

Turn off your computer and all external devices connected to it.

Disconnect your computer from the power sources. [Unplug the computer power
cord from the wall outlet]

Open the computer case. [Refer to your computer user manual for instruction]

Always discharge static electricity before handling any electronics
components. You may discharge static electricity by touching the metal
chassis of your computer.

Find an available PCI slot on the motherboard. Remove the screw securing the
expansion slot cover behind this available PCI expansion slot. Save the
screw for later use. Lift the expansion slot cover out.

Firmly, but gently, insert this PCI to PCMCIA controller card into the
available PCI expansion slot. Assure that the card is seated properly before
securing it with the screw removed in step 5.

Put the chassis cover back on your computer. [Refer to your computer user
manual for instruction]

Reconnect the power cord to the computer. Turn on the computer.

Proceed to the Software Installation.
Software Installation
Windows Vista / XP / 2000
Once
Windows Vista/ XP/ 2000 starts up, the hardware will be detected and the Windows
built-in driver will be installed automatically.
Windows ME
-
Windows ME will detect the hardware automatically and ask for the driver
“Ricoh R5C475II CardBus Controller”.

Select “Automatic search for a better driver (Recommended)” and press
“Next”.

After the driver is loaded automatically, press “Finish” to end the
installation process.
